The biological contact oxidation process involves the use of a contact oxidation tank filled with special fillers. Microorganisms grow on the surface of these fillers in the form of a biofilm. As wastewater comes into contact with the biofilm, the organic matter in the water is absorbed and oxidized by the microorganisms, forming new biofilm. When the biofilm reaches a certain thickness, it sloughs off, promoting the growth of new biofilm and ensuring continuous wastewater treatment.
